Mary Bruno

Bruno Press

Mary Bruno isa letterpress artist, printmaker, and professional community-igniter based inSaint Joseph, Minnesota. She is the creative force behind Bruno Press, a legacy print shop she inherited from her father, Don Bruno—a designer and professor who first introduced her to the craft in their family garage-turned-studio. What began asa space of remembrance has grown into a nationally recognized hub for hands-on creativity, poster-making, and small-town bad-assery.

With over 25 years of experience slinging ink and carving linoleum, Mary specializes in bold, typographic design and hand-carved imagery rooted in both tradition and irreverence. Her work ranges from political and subversive prints to heartfelt community projects and epic large-scale installations. She’s collaborated with local chefs, distilleries, activists, universities, and even BMX trick riders—because if it brings people together, she’s in.

Mary teaches workshops, hosts Print Parties,Typewriter Nites, and Print Socials, and is always dreaming up new ways to connect people to the tactile magic of analog printing. Her most ambitious project to date—a 36-foot-long scroll of the Rule of Saint Benedict—was commissioned for a permanent sculpture installation and has been exhibited throughout the Midwest. She’s currently planning a major expansion of her space to offer residencies, artist gatherings, and more.

Mary is a frequent speaker on legacy, women in craft, and the power of print to create change. Her mission? Keep letterpress alive, amplify creative voices, and make damn good work while doing it.
