About the workshop:
You even licensed the nice mockup.
That’s how much you want to prove to the client this thing is worth printing, this thing you designed from start to fit’n’finish. Now, before this thing of yours is real, things get real.
After the file is exported, early-career designers and weathered design warriors alike find themselves in the vast unknown that is turning digital designs into tangible reality.
Led by three print professionals who call that vast unknown their workplace—Claire Johnston (Franklin Press, Studio on Fire), George Graves (Good Lookin’ Print Co., Studio on Fire), and Loop Haro (Piggyback.press, Fareweather.design)—we intend (and we mean intend 🧘🏻) to instill foundational confidence in digital-first designers when they take their work from anchor points and hex codes to paper weight and pressure-based print.
In our workshop, we’ll hit you with the most commonly missed details that can make—or break / bend / bump / blur—a printed piece. We’ll touch color, substrate, file types, vernacular, PRICING 💸, and how to actually talk w/printers w/out panicking.
Whether you're a student, in-house, solo, or simply an enthusiast, join us for this practical, no-shame zone where you’ll probably hear confessional conversation and gain some gusto to move forward in print.
You’ll receive a limited-run handbook as your takeaway guide, filled with real-world examples, quick-reference tips, and space to scribble.
By design, there will be a robust Q&A section.
Print ain’t permanent, digital isn’t forever, but in a mere hour 😱, you’ll learn some lifelong lessons about a rarely enlightened area in our shared industry: The delta between pixels and print.
